President/Chief Innovation Officer
Tamara Boone, LPC-MHSP-S
Tamara Boone, LPC-MHSP-S is transitioning from President/Chief Clinical Officer to President/Chief Innovation Officer of Imani Behavioral Health. Tamara has been with Imani since its start in 2018, starting as a clinician and Clinical Director. In the early stages of the company, she helped to establish many of the original procedures and policies as well as set the clinical standards. The company saw growth in a little over a year adding several more clinicians and staff. During this time, she was promoted to President/Chief Operating Officer in late 2019.
During her tenure in this position, she helped to bring organization to the newly developed departments of Clinical Services, Finance, Human Resources, Strategic Planning, Administrative, and eventually Marketing/Communications. There was a void in the Finance department and wanting to see the company succeed she took on the role President/Chief Financial Officer. During this time, she took classes in business and accounting to better assist in this area. In the CFO position, Tamara helped to organize the billing and insurance structure and establish policies and procedures to improve productivity and cash flow. Additionally, she assisted in the development of the sliding scale and payment plan system, a way to meet our goal of providing services regardless of ability to pay.
After structure was created and individuals put in place, she then transitioned to the role of President/Chief Clinical Officer. While in the Chief Clinical Officer role, she helped to provide more structure to the department and created various positions to ensure a more streamline process. She created the clinical resource drive for all the clinicians to have access to clinical resources, templates for letters, supervision contracts, etc. She also provided mentorship to many of the new clinical leaders, provided supervision, led clinical meetings and clinical supervision meetings, and helped to improve the intern application process and experience.
She is now transitioning to the Chief Innovation Officer role. This is a new role to help to ensure that we move forward in the direction of being more engaged and forward thinking. Her new responsibilities include overseeing the development of new services in the community as well as new services that help to provide a more comprehensive treatment approach to the whole body. She will also work on the creation of activities to engage in more fun and educational social media and online content, and being innovative in how we engage and interact with you all.
